Following a national search, the Delaware Healthcare Association (DHA) Board of Directors has named Brian Frazee as the new President & CEO. With a proven track record of engaging key leaders and stakeholders, Frazee is poised to lead DHA into a new era of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Frazee comes to DHA with a unique blend of political, policy, advocacy, and association leadership experience. He has been with the Maryland Hospital Association for eight years and currently serves as the Vice President of Government Affairs leading advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels on behalf of 60 hospitals and health systems. He is President of the Maryland Government Relations Association, President of the Alumni Association Board of Directors for the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and has been a member of the Maryland Nonprofits Policy Council for over a decade.
“Delaware is growing rapidly, and our healthcare landscape is evolving just as fast. Changes in patient demographics and population shifts, as well as technology, reimbursement practices, and the growing concerns with the adequacy of the healthcare workforce are all increasing the need for Delaware’s great health systems to work towards increasing our inter-dependence. The Delaware Healthcare Association (DHA) must continue to be the “convener” and bring all stakeholders together to create a sustainable system that focuses on improving the health of all Delawareans. We are excited that Brian Frazee, a healthcare executive with tremendous experience and energy, will be joining us as our next President and CEO” said Dr. David Tam, Board Chair for DHA.
Prior to joining MHA in 2015, Frazee represented over 100 nonprofit agencies providing supports to people with developmental disabilities as Director of Public Policy for the Maryland Association of Community Services. He also has extensive political experience working in the office of a former Maryland Senate Chairman and managing the Southern Maryland Democratic Coordinated Campaign in 2010. He also has experience working for a government affairs firm in Annapolis, Maryland.
“It’s an honor to serve Delaware’s hospitals, health systems, and healthcare related organizations as President & CEO of the Delaware Healthcare Association,” Frazee said. “I am ready to work with DHA’s members, policymakers, and stakeholders to tackle the complex challenges facing healthcare and advance the well-being of Delaware’s communities.”
Frazee has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from UMBC.
He will begin his tenure on October 2.
