We appreciate Governor Carney’s response to the needs of Delaware’s hospital and health care workers at this extraordinary time.
We are in a serious situation with the COVID-19 virus (or coronavirus). The objective is to flatten the curve of infection so as to not overwhelm hospital resources and save lives. This is why governors are beginning to close states and we have been urged to practice social isolation.
Delaware Healthcare Association President & CEO Wayne Smith released the following statement in response to Governor Carney’s decision:
If you do have symptoms, including fever, cough and shortness of breath, call your health care provider or the Delaware Division of Public Health 1-866-408-1899 to discuss whether you should be tested for coronavirus.
