(Dover, DE – July 20, 2026) – Delaware Healthcare Association President & CEO Brian Frazee issued the following statement after Governor Matt Meyer signed a package of healthcare bills on Monday. SS 2 for Senate Bill 1, SS 1 for Senate Bill 13, and Senate Bill 313 were ultimately supported by DHA.

“This was a historically consequential session for healthcare in Delaware. We thank Governor Meyer and his Administration, Senate Majority Leader Bryan Townsend, Senator Marie Pinkney, Senator Spiros Mantzavinos, Speaker of the House Mimi Minor-Brown, Rep. Nnamdi Chukwuocha, and Rep. Kendra Johnson for their collaborative work with DHA on the bills signed into law today,” Frazee said.

“Even as the healthcare sector faces major headwinds, Delaware hospitals continue to step up to be part of the solution to healthcare access and affordability. The work will continue. These new laws will require intentional implementation as hospitals brace for the negative impacts to operations, workforce, and health outcomes as a result of upcoming federal policy challenges, including significant changes to Medicaid coming in 2027. We cannot lose sight of these dynamics along with the fact that we have a uniquely aging and growing population. DHA looks forward to continued collaborative efforts with policymakers and the First State Health Leaders Alliance. It’s going to take all of us working together to make the First State First in Health.”
