DHA Hosts 2025 State Advocacy Day in Dover
 
(Dover, DE – March 14, 2025) – More than 20 elected officials on Tuesday joined the Delaware Healthcare Association and hospital members for its annual legislative advocacy day at Legislative Hall in Dover.
 
“DHA supports Delaware’s hospitals and health systems who are making a difference at the bedside and in the community, so we are always grateful for the opportunity to share on-the-ground perspectives with policymakers. We look forward to partnering with our elected officials on policies that will help make our healthcare system and our state stronger. We can make the First State first in health with our collective efforts to strengthen the healthcare workforce and ensure healthcare quality, access, affordability, and equity,” said Christina Bryan, Vice President of External Affairs for the Delaware Healthcare Association.
 
The Delaware Healthcare Association, or DHA, represents Delaware’s hospitals, health systems, and healthcare related organizations. Each year, Delaware hospitals and health systems care for patients through more than 3 million outpatient visits, over 400,000 emergency departments visits, 90,000 inpatient admissions, and in delivering more than 10,000 babies.
 
DHA’s ‘First in Health’ state advocacy agenda calls for policies to strengthen Delaware’s healthcare workforce; ensure healthcare access, quality, and affordability; and advance health equity. Some of DHA’s key priorities include creating a healthcare workforce shortage scholarship program, championing prior authorization reform with the Medical Society of Delaware and advocating for adequate reimbursement for preventative care and health insurance coverage for the uninsured, underinsured and most vulnerable.
 
DHA’s state advocacy agenda seeks to address some of Delaware’s most urgent healthcare challenges including our rapidly aging and growing population and higher chronic disease rates.
