On January 14, 2022, DHA sent a letter to the Delaware Department of Insurance seeking relief during the current COVID-19 crisis. Specifically, the letter asks for a 6-month reprieve from:
- prior authorizations (particularly for patient transfers);
- claim submission and appeal limits;
- audits, prepayment reviews, recoupment actions, payment suspensions; and,
- requests for itemized bills, medical record requests and other information.
- The letter also seeks a six-month delay in state enforcement of the No Surprises Act.
This request was also made directly to payers.
