DHA sent a letter on April 15th to Representative Kim Williams, thanking her for her leadership in addressing human trafficking by introducing HB 102.
HB 102 allows a person who is arrested or convicted of any crime, except a violent felony, which was a direct result of being a victim of human trafficking to file an application for a pardon or expungement or make a motion to vacate judgment. This bill also adds locations where a public awareness sign must be placed. Delaware hospitals and health care delivery systems are dedicated to addressing human trafficking, and many are already posting human trafficking awareness signs at their facilities.
